Art Addendum - Art Foundations I & II, Ceramics, & Drawing

Field Trip / Chalk-the-Walk:

  1. No student with a citizenship grade of “U” will be able to go on a field trip.
  2. Students must have an “H” for citizenship to participate in the Chalk-the-Walk.

Gallery visit / Sketchbook assignment:

  1. To earn extra credit, students may visit an art gallery, art museum or art show and write a one-page paper on what they saw, learned and experienced. Students will get paper from Mrs. Burton or Mr. Munro.
  2. 2. Art Foundations 1 and 2 and Drawing classes will have a weekly out-of-class sketchbook assignment. They will be expected to draw each week in their sketchbooks on an assigned topic.

Supplies / Fees:

Supplies needed ART FOUNDATIONS 1

  1. Sketchbook: 50+ pages, white paper, about 9X12 inches, spiral-bound
  2. 10 pencils: 9 2HB and 1 4B-7B(soft lead for shading).
  3. Eraser(s) (including a kneaded eraser)
  4. Ruler (clear or metal)
  5. Pencil sharpener that catches the shavings
  6. Small folder (a paper 3 prong pocket folder) for handouts
  7. 4 Sharpie ultra-fine black markers or Sharpie pens
  8. Prismacolor Colored Pencils - soft lead (Optional)
  9. Oil pastels (optional)
  10. 2 charcoal pencils (soft lead)
  11. 2 large needles with a large eye and blunt tip. These needles are for Mrs. Burton’s ART FOUDATIONS 1 class only, NOT Mr. Munro’s.

  1. Sketchbook: 50+ pages, white paper, about 9X12 inches, spiral-bound

(There is NO ART FEE for this Drawing Course)

REQUIRED SUPPLIES:

  1. One cheap folder, with pockets and 3 fastening brads, for handouts
  2. Six Drawing Pencils: two 4B, and two 2H
  3. One Drawing Sketch Pad, 50+ sheets, for daily sketching warm-ups
  4. One set of colored pencils (E.g. Crayola, Prismacolor)
  5. Two White & two Black Conte Crayons (or Black & White colored pencils)
  6. Two Kneaded Erasers (“stretchy” type)
  7. Two Ultra-Fine Point markers for Contour Line work (E.g. Sharpies)
  8. One durable pencil sharpener that catches it’s own shavings
  9. One ruler, clear (“see-through”) type
  10. One compass

OPTIONAL SUPPLIES:

  1. One Pencil Box, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Ex. Soho), to store supplies
  2. One box, Pencil Set Staedtler® Mars® Lumograph Sketch, for a complete set of drawing pencils

Supplies Needed & Fee only for CERAMICS

  1. The $10.00 fee due in the main office during first week of school. Bring the white receipt to Mrs. Burton!
  2. Bring a small folder (a paper 3-prong pocket folder)
  3. A small sketchbook
  4. A pencil to keep in class
