Math Department Addendum
Math Department Weighted Categories:
Math department grades will be weighted as follows:
- Tests and Quizzes: 60%
- Assignments: 30%
- Participation: 10%
Students will be required to show work on all assignments. If no work is shown, no credit will be given. Showing your work means:
- Copy the problem
- Show all steps or diagrams (your grade depends on it)
- Circle or box your answer
Math Department Citizenship Policy:
All math students will begin each quarter with a Satisfactory Citizenship Grade. Teachers will evaluate behavior and participation throughout the quarter based on the citizenship guidelines (see school-wide disclosure). Adjustments will be made accordingly.Math Department Late Work Policy:
- All students will receive 4 math vouchers at the beginning of each quarter. These vouchers can be used in order to turn in work late, (for full credit of earned score), to use the hall pass, or extra credit.
- All late work turned in without a voucher will receive 50% credit, (of the earned score), until the Chapter Test.
- All late work, with or without a voucher, is due no later than the day of the Chapter Test.
Test Retakes:
Students will be given the opportunity to retake one test per quarter. The final test score will be the average of the original and the retake.
